I grew up between Oklahoma and Arkansas. My parents moved from the Oklahoma City area to Little Rock when I was in the fourth grade. We lived in North Little Rock for four years. Oklahoma called us back as I entered the eighth grade. Of all places, we moved to Merle Haggard's favorite town; Muskogee Oklahoma USA!
I graduated from Muskogee High School in 1974. Early on in the 80's, the oil boom was on, so I left Oklahoma University (where I met my lovely wife, Carol.) and was soon working for a major oil well servicing company while living in Bristow. As the boom began to "bust," in order to keep my job in a recession, we moved to Duncan, OK where I drove a truck for the same company for several years.
It was during my last year of driving (1987) that the Lord called me into the ministry. After wondering why the Lord had given me a tender heart and loving attitude, He placed his call on me one night in Forest City, AR after returning from a very long trip.
Go to Bible College, was the advice I received from a few friends. So we investigated a few and settled on Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, Ne (now in Papillion/Omaha area.).
Ministries in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri shaped my ministry philosophy for years to come. Today, Carol and I serve at Southwest Christian Church of Little Rock. This congregation is a re-birth congregation… very determined to grow. I am excited.
