Tattoo Cartoon

Those of you who know me, know I am somewhat of an amateur cartoonist.  I have RSS'd several "underground" cartoonists.  One of my faves is David Malki.  His strip, called "Wondermark" has sharp wit and sometimes bizarre thoughts and drawings… to say the least.  Take a look at this one:

First let me tell you a bit about what I have observed about Malki's strip. First of all, wonderful artwork. He takes images of people from the "Guilded Age" of Europe and specifically England and France.  That by itself would not be that funny, but the characters speak about contemporary issues. The melding together of the turn of the century, formalistic artwork, with the loose and liberal world we live in, makes for a classic laugh almost every time. This particular episode is classic melding of the times.

Most of you know my opinion of the silliness of tattoos, right? I stand amazed at how each generation does something to shock the previous generation. Tattoos wound up hitting the mark.  They are repulsive to me. But, then again… I'm not of this generation.  So here… enjoy "Wondermark"'s commentary about tattoos.
